Outfit of The Day: Sin In My Heart – Collaboration with Demonic Dolly

July 13, 2015 in fashion & style, outfit of the day

I was approached by the lovely Demonic Dolly about a possible collaboration, which sounded like a lot of fun; we quickly realised that we both had the same blouse floating around in our wardrobes, and thought up a post to showcase the same piece and how we might style it for both daytime and evening. We loved the idea of seeing how we both might style the same blouse and hoped that it would be inspiring for both ourselves and for our readers.

The piece we decided to use as the basis of our outfits is this gorgeous flouncy lace blouse by Burleska, with its elegant ruffled collar and cuffs and slinky cut-outs. I bought it a couple of years ago from a goth shop (I wish that I could remember the name!) in Stockholm's Old Town whilst visiting friends in Sweden; I've not gotten as much wear out of it recently, so it's been wonderful to add it back into my wardrobe. I can definitely see it featuring a lot more in the future. It makes me feel elegant and vampiric, and I wanted to reflect this a little in my outfit.

My daytime outfit is one that I would wear for a day out in the city, maybe to grab lunch with friends and visit a museum, gallery or cathedral. Fancy and decorative enough that I'd feel pretty, but comfortable enough for me to not have to worry about running about and being on my feet for an entire day. To see Demonic Dolly's rendition, please pop on over to her post.
